Of course, I'm working that night, but whatever... I'm hoping that when the smoke clears at work I end up M-F.

Yeah.. That's about how WB Promos go. Only thing the strip is missing is the cheezy animation at the end and the voiceover "Wednesday on WB-18/WGN-TV Chicago's WB/Rockford's WB-14/etc."

I wonder if they have new commentary on this DVD and, if so, I wonder if the commentary will be better than on the last? Not that that would be very hard to do.

Think way back in the day...think about playing Duke Nukem 3D and reading about the next game from 3D Realms...this is before Duke Nukem Forever is even announced, somewhere in youthful, playful 1996...

Well, it's back.

I was in Tulsa, OK for the last week. It per near broak by spirit, and it did break my body, but that is the way things are in this world. You must remain strong, and keep up the good fight 'with all your might' (if you will...).

Also Tulsa does not know about this little thing called the 'internet' yet. They are still a little foggy on it, I tried to explain it, and they seemed interested, but they didn't have the 'technology' to do anything about it. They did have one computer, but it was a 'tandy', and I called it a 'dandy', and they just kind of walked away from the conversation. Eh, I didn't expect much out of them anyway.

So that's that. What happened while I was gone? Anything good?

It's always interesting to read about media companies from the perspective of the financial sector.

In gaming news, there is a multiplayer demo out for Pariah. Since demos tend to do well at LAN parties (being small and free), I'm going to check it out.
download.beyondunreal.com/fileworks.php/demos/pariahmpdemo.exe
See what you think. I haven't played it yet, but it comes from a mighty FPS pedigree (Digital Extremes brought us many of the best parts of UT2004), and in leiu of UT2005 this may be "just fine".

Remember, that's Memorial weekend, May 28th. I have secured vacation time on the adjacent friday and monday, so I will be available and setting up on thursday night. Depending on the schedule over at Ideix Corp, I see the possibility of a WoW marathon session from thursday night through Friday daylight, with proper LAN gaming to commence on friday afternoon/evening.
What does everyone think?

Finally, I will be having a fire-sale of some possessions during the event to lighten up for my move. Details forthcoming. One item I'm pretty sure will interest you, Peter, with your imminent ostracism from campus housing. ;)

One more thing regarding ICSD.com: I will actually post content to it once you get rid of that statement that ICSD.com OWNS the content. I will gladly give an unlimited license to display and distribute the content, but never ownership.

I played around a bit with the ICSD. Corrected some typos in the Christianity thing, completely reworked the Political list (and changed it to simply "Politics"), and added a couple things under Sociology.

Okay, let me just see if I have this right: in Milwaukee, when your neighbor is making too much noise the thing you have to do to quiet them down is offer them kitchen appliances, and then drugs. Okay. I can't get behind that.

Yes I turned down both!

It seems like you could make the MUTV and MU radio link stick around in one of two ways, you could assimilated it to Marquette University, or you could add more information to the link.

It has been a number of months since I have told many of you about the concept of "I Can't Spell Dostoevsky.com" that Dave and I came up with. Much of the delay in the prior release of the site was due to the editor that needed to be developed. Well, it just so happens that my webhosting company "Dreamhost" now has a WikiMedia installer. This allows for the creation of a wiki site much like Wikipedia.com, the online opensource encyclopedia. I Can't Spell Dostoevsky.com was a vision that Dave and I had that would allow people to talk about serious and crazy topics alike. I have set the site up with a general outline, feel free to advance the site, there is a rollback feature, I think it works. Please be respectful when discussing many of these topics, i am sure I can trust the bunch of you. If you think there needs to be a philisophical discussion on the color of blue vs red or intel vs. amd feel free. If you like you can also talk about how an MMOG affects ones life and their social context. This is your site too.

ICantSpellDostoevsky.com

Interms of the wiki language, it is easily learned from example text, I have provide alot, if you need help just email me.

The Dream BBQ Child is going to be special lady friendless this weekend cause she will br in Florida. Which will suck. But he will be in Milwaukee next weekend which could be aventageous. With that in mind, he can think of 1 combination of things that'll really help cheer him up next Friday or Saturday Night. That would be:

Good Peeps
Good Booze, or no,t as long as it has alchohol Dream BBQ Child doesn't care
Kareoke. Oh yeah. Kareoke.

What promotions can I expect around episode III time?

Other People,
Hear sony is looking to beam images right into your brain? That sounds pretty cool...NOT! Where's william shatner for a little tekwar? I tell you where he is, in a grocery store showering women with freshly squeezed tomato.

information on shatner gained from latest 'priceline' commercials.

FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY, PLEASE DON'T MAKE ANOTHER FLYER!!!!!!!! I WILL GIVE IN TO YOUR DEMANDS JUST PUT THE KEYBOARD AWAY........nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo!!!!

No problem for tickets, B_W, I was planning on getting one for you too anyway (I vowed not to repeat the mistake from Episode II, though I had repressed the painful memories of the "publication" until you brought it up in the previous post.....Well...looks like another 3 years of therapy....).

Nearscape, I was going to get one for you as well...unless you fear that you might actually like one of the prequels....

Posted by: Big_Whisky Posted on: Tuesday April 12 2005 12:20am
I think it's kinda odd, if I had kids I would probabily be more likely to bring them to see this star wars than I or II. That's just me. That's also why my kids will eventually appear on America's Most Wanted. Hosting the show. They will grow up to be show hosts, hosting many different kinds of shows.

Ok. Time for sleep.

B_W

Peter: when you buy your tix get me one. or i will produce another publication. ;) you remember what I am talking about. ;D We should produce a publicaiton together anyway, and hand it out. It would be fun...and promotional. And it would also give us the opportunity to spend some 'quality time' together... ;)

Yo,
I am now web-browsing on co-opted wireless networks on my PSP. Now I can view penny-arcade, or check my yahoo mail at any coffee house, or near any apartment building where they have loose networks. It's pretty 1337, or as the true -in-the-know- folks say it, it's pretty 'LIMP'. ;)

So, not only can I stare longingly at images, watch .bomb at a seconds noice in a concrete bunker, listen to some sweet beats, play some ridiculously off the chain titles, and wardrive with my PSP, but I can also rock the hizzy on the i-net in certain 'hot' zones. Can't view this site though, the hacked and cracked browser doesn't support frames. ;) (all I get is a pissy note about HTML 4.0 specifications... :) However you can get your share of korporate-media...TOTAL HOT ACTION ALL AROUND boyz. Get your hands on this sweetness if you dare to rock.

Ben Adams intoduced me to Gish many months ago. It was alright. I guess it didn't put a fire into my soul like it has some, but it is a very competant little title.

B_W

Posted by: nearscape Posted on: Wednesday April 6 2005 11:08am
Indeed, I've been hitting a little Moonbase to prepare my mind...and my soul. Also, there's this free demo of a game called "Gish", from the guys who do the Bridge simulators. It's basically a platform game with 1337 physics. There's a multiplayer "sumo" mode that could be fun to do a ladder of some sort (matches are VERY short, like one of those Mortal Kombat / Street Fighter clones). I'll be back soon with some other relevant info.

Posted by: Big_Whisky Posted on: Tuesday April 5 2005 11:27pm
Wow, am I getting excited about this LAN action coming up at the end of the month of MAY!

It's gonna be 1337.
It's gonna be LIMP.
It's gonna be OFF THE CHAIN.

Oh yeah.

I got my PSP the day it came out. The next day I had some of my videos on it, along with a stack of pictures and some music. No games. Don't need um! The pictures and video were enough for me! When I came into work, some of my co-workers also bought PSPs. The 3d animator had some of his animations on his. It was a pretty special day in the world of gaming...considering no gaming was occuring. I like to use my PSP for the following functions:

1. showing off my video $hit
2. showing pictures to friends
3. listining to music
4. War-Driving wireless networks
5. playing games (I finally bought one, Luminies)

That's the PSP update for today.
Later,

one final post, for today.

I was thinking about something for icsd.com ( icantspelldostoevsky.com ) and the thought of open source and religion seem appealing, so i did a search on it and i found something called open source judaism, i was amazed to find that there was some interesting work being done to unify the concept of open discussion and judaism.

The site had several intersting points on philosopy and religion, and how there are examples in the Bible that point to the fact that the Bible is a living document, and must be holographicly interperated for it to have proper meaning. The comparison is that a hologram is composed of alot of small componets and that each component offers a unique view of the original object, or in this case God, an observer is not able to see the image with just one small peice of the hologram, but rather needs alot of peices to see the hole image. He goes further to explain that the hologram is a better representation of religious discussion because once the hologram is visible, there is a 4th dimentional quality to a hologram, in that the observer of the hologram also provides information as to how the hologram is viewed, and that the image is different based on the perspective of the observer. I really enjoyed the insight that he offered on the context and i thought that the rest of you might like to make your own obeservations about the paridigm.

Signing off

Its good to see that people actually check out the links that i post every now and then. The coolest part of the light based bus is that you could manufacture boards that contain processors that react to different wavelengths. So you could have a serial connection interms of layout, but in reality it would be parallel. This could make masivly parallel computing possible. think 100+g5 processors in a single system, and all on the same buss. Woot.

on another note, a few of you WoWers might like to see what other mmogs are doing, MxO (matrix online) is setting it self apart from WoW in that there is actuall gameplay and that everything isnt already known, this is an in game newspaper that is avalible to subscribers, and from what i know there are clues hidden in it for gameplay, i will have to read it agian later to see what might be hidden.
