| Nevermind, and thank you Pink Floyd. :) The title coensides with the title of the last track on Dark Side of the Moon. | |

The time has come for me to bequeath a real name to my game. Unfortunately, writing a cross platform OpenGL window manager has proven easier. Right now, I'm not that far away from calling it Mayonnaise because it was once in Billy Corgan's refrigerator. I know I want it to be one word. I just don't know what one. Nor do I think I can take the artist's copout and call it Untitled. .... |

| Did anyone here post on the Pulgari Trap Website with the handle "Nafai" asking about the Memory of the Shadows movie? I know DBBC mentioned something about it in this forum a while back. Otherwise, Pulgari may have had yet another outside, un-Pulgari, un-StarWars related movie question. Most disturbing.... | |

I think Lucky Jim should sing us all a song. I mean, it's the holidays, right? Right? I think I am right. Jim, if you will. B_W |

What, you think I am funny? Like a clown? What you think I am a clown or something? ;) I don't even know if that was a very good web impression...oh well. Anyway, since this is a gaming blog, I will post a warning about a certain game: DO NOT PLAY 'WORLD OF WARCRAFT' AT ALL COSTS. IT WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE. Ok. There. I said it. Now go get you're shine box! B_W If anyone is interested, I will be taping a 'Burlesque Show' tonight, it will only be 1 hour, and I can get you in for free as my 'assistant'. (only if you put you're 'ass' into it! I have to get an ass joke in every post now. It's in my contract.) So, if anyone wants to come, it should prove good. |

Yeah, my NES and Atari are buried in a stack of $hit a mile deep, and it would take ten men and a pack mule to both retireve it and hoist the contents 'all the way from the grove', a monumental, almost insurmountable distance, as some have said on multiple occasions. That plus the fact I have 2 shoots this weekend, guests coming, a holiday feast, DVDs to produce, shows to put of the web for third parties, and air travel in under seven days, portends little time for this L.B. to get out his mining equipent. Not to mention hire and feed ten men! Besides, my NES still works, and I wouldn't want it getting infected with NES coodies that makes the screen flash white, black, white, black. I will see what I can do about some SNES AC. We all need some AC. Especially the SNES. Whisky I put the ass back in A[ss]C, by the way. |

Damn.. Sounds like fun.. If all things go well at work (and pray that they do), I might be directing full time and just might end up on the shift that allows me to be off on the weekends! This of course would mean I'd be able to join y'all at the next gathering after this one. -A |

It is for me! I got some gear ready, and if you look under events=>next I did put a schedule up. Everyone, please bring whatever you want. My library is available, but it's far from complete. I've been too swamped to plan everything I wanted, but I think there's enough there to get started. If anyone cares to join me, I have a few requests. Someone, please bring a S-NES AC Adaptor. I ordered one over a week ago, and it hasn't shown so I'm kinda screwed there. I'm also counting on Whisky for Atari and NES. Also, my second Genesis controller seems to be quite "whacked". Well, at least the Master System Converter from DBBQC works, and the 386 lives as well. Also, WinROTT 2 is out, so PC LAN gaming is a possibility. We've got 4 machines ready, which is probably good for DukeMatch. For ROTT, I'd love to see 2 more machines arrive so we could do 3v3 Capture the Triad. So, you guys all let me know what you have planned. |

| Double plus good that you haven't read 1984, Big_Whisky. It's a vile text that goes against the Party. I'd hate for you to wind up in Room 101. I just hope that DBBQC has found a safe alcove, away from the omniscient monitors, in which to engage in this act of treason. Now, on to other things. Isn't it great that our chocolate rations have been increased? | |

Yo, Big_Whisky. Since I never had it thrust upon me in school, and I have a feeling its one of those books I should read being a classic and all, I've finally gotten off my ass and started reading 1984. I'm only about 50 pages in and that has been enough to set me to worndering: Is there a connection between your gin media and the book? |

Minor clarification, Justin. Sofia Stewart, the woman suing WB and the Wachowskis, has not yet won her suit. She just recently won the RIGHT to sue them. Her case has not yet gone to court. Based on internet murmurings, she had written a 5 page treatment that seems to be the basis of both The Matrix and the Terminator movies in some way. Whether this is true or not, I cannot speculate, not having read the original document. |

oh, hell yeah! www.beyondunreal.com/daedalus/singlepost.php?id=7403 Don't know if anyone else cares (I think Kump might), but I leapt forth in a jig of joy when I saw this. Also, has anyone else read about the woman who successfully sued all the Matrix folks for plagiarizing her story? It seems they were a bunch of lying hacks, after all. Finally, I get to see my media on the Bradley Center Jumbotron tomorrow night. w00t! |

So does this mean you're heading off-campus, back to Humphrey, or to that weird building over on 17th? -A PS If you're heading off-campus and want to stay in the Marqyette area, seriously check out Union St. Apartments... They were about $430/month for a 1BR and they're really nice! Can't say the same for any of Steve Wolff's apartments, however. |

Marquette University Problem Solving: Problem: For the past three years, more freshmen are coming to Marquette than residence halls have room to accomodate. Thus Marquette has had to rent out area hotels/motels for the first semester until they can find homes for the freshmen. Possible solutions: -Build a new residence hall for freshmen. -Cut down on the number of acceptances handed out. Marquette's solution: -Kick all of the graduate students out of Abbottsford Apartments by May 2005 so that it can become a freshman dorm (through an apparently very costly renovation process to the building), thereby displacing more than 100 graduate students (including many foreign grad students whose scholarships dictate they must live in university housing)! The Marquette business model at work in all of its finery! First Marquette kills off the Biltmore, now the Abbottsford. Sounds to me like Marquette is trying to send a message to grad students - we want your knowledge for teaching classes and your research experience to bring grants and notoriety to the university, but we don't want you. |

Let's talk about some +games+. Greetings all, Well, I have to say this aloud. Half-Life has tried to go 'old school' with it's death match mode. When they announced they were not going to include a deathmatch, I was pretty angry. So one night I drank alot of 'Lifestyle Gin' TM, and made my opinions heard. Valve, having heard my ginned up rant, quickly set into motion to produce a multiplayer death match mode for Half-Life 2, in order to prevent such gin provoked chaos from ripping into the fabric of the Internet community again. Well, let me tell you, this sweet action is ADEQUATE! I mean that with the highest level positiveness I can muster. The newest improvement is this gravity gun, which allows you to throw radiators and office cubicles at your opponents, with sexy results. (the only thing I don't like about it is whether you're killed by a desk or a flaming barrel, the icon at the top shows you were killed by a flying toilet. I don't like that.) But, the physics are cool, and the action is pretty +limp+*, so I'm 'down' bum diggity. The only problem these days is that this game is a game among games right now. Halo2 is hot, there are just alot of really great games out right now. Which is good, but it might steal the play out of this one. I must say, that if they make some 'stalkyard' style maps this sweet action could be 'off the chain'. Also for your gaming dollar, Half-Life 2 is a great value, because you get the game (Half-Life 2), counterstrike, deathmatch, you will get day of defeat (which was pretty limp*), plus all the original action if you're bored. (or never played through half life 1, which is a treat I must say) Anyway, if anyone's interested in tearing it up 'oliver style' in the HL2 sense, I am down. I would also highly suggest it for the next LAN, because frankly, I want to take a urinal up against Mr. Barbiaux's head. ;) Now that +limp+* action would be totally 'off the chain'. Big_Whisky Out *the term 'Limp', is a combination of 'great' and 'hot' or in other words 'really great' |

It's quite possibly the best hour of the day. Take this morning, at around 4:30, I was navigating a Euclidian labyrinth of American Fluorescent PDFs. The resulting animation defies comprehension, but then business theater is rarely a home to reason. Invigorating! |

4am's are great because: 1. you pay but forget your food at the drive thru 2. you literally punch out your alarm clock in the morning (and don't remember) 3. you forget put important words and articles into your sentances It will all be worth it though. ;) The show will be first class. Later all, and I hope to see most of you at the show. B_W |
