i'll post it here, and probably follow up with one of those ugly mass-email things, but we are approaching the time when we need to lock in a date for the next LAN party. As far as we know, Big_Whisky will be the next host and the tentative weekend is the 17th-18th-19th of October, but the following weekend is another candidate as there are a few minor potential conflicts with that first one. In any case, there should be an event before Halloween. As i meet with Mr. Whisky himself and get responses from the core players, more details will be finalized and will begin to appear elsewhere on the site. I will be in touch.

Considering the lifespan of a supercomputer's time on a top ten list is fairly short, I don't see any time when the majority of computing is done in Japan. As for the footnote, I opened it in both Mozilla and IE and saw nothing unusual in either.

this, after the NEC Earth Simulator...it seems we're rapidly approaching a time when the majority of the world's computing will be done in Japan. And how much faster/cheaper their broadband is, oh my! also, in the footnote notice that POWER is a registered trademark of IBM. that oughtta discourage a few would-be totalitarians. and, if your browser properly renders HTML (sorry, MSIE users), you may notice something very amusing about the footnote itself...
