Yes...Ziggies is gone. Gyros is still around (people seem to forget that during breaks Gyros changes to a Lunchtime only schedule). It's only Ziggie who is leaving, and he's known about this date since 2007 when MU bought out his building.
To get people back in a better mood. I present to you this 5 Second Synopsis of StarWars Attack of the Clones!

And I heard rumors that Gyros wasn't doing all that well now that Qdoba is in the former DQ/George Webbs space. And ironically, I never went to Miss Katie's diner. Never really ventured over there. And Angeloes... Holy crap was that pizza good. And it will forever remind me of MUTV wrap parties :)
And by this list, I'm assuming that means Real Chili is gone? And what about Heggerty's? I heard a rumor Marquette bought that building with plans to rip it down to build yet another parking ramp.

@ziggy comment,
that is not a landmark, and institution; it's an era, and now its dead. all we have left is marquette gyros, miss kattie's dinner, and angelos.

since the movers f'dup, i have to fly back to MKE again to get my stuff moved to LA from storage.
I don't know when I will be in town yet, but a LAN party in MKE would be a good reason for me to preference one weekend over another.
Right now January or early Feb would work best for me, unless I get a sublet out here.

this article makes the argument that by better simulating torture, we can teach people the reasons why its a bad way to get information.

we are fairly sure this is an ARG (alternate reality game), as an avid battlestar galactica fan, i do not feel that this meshes at all with the story of BSG. the idea of a semireligious Go.D.S.E.E.D might play into BSG in only one circumstance that the final season of BSG would allow for, however, this does not feel like it is in the vain of the BSG crew, even the look of it is way different.
i do know that a portal2 is in the works, and this wreaks like a valve project would. if this is not portal2, i might guess some other valve project, and since valve is in Seattle, WA, this might be unlikely.
Wisconsin is one of the few places in the world to host a Spaceport http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaceport, however the other sites in the ARG do not map to other spaceports.
In fact from what I have read, most of them seem to be based on manufacturing cities. The film also seems to have little correlation to the actual history of Milwaukee and keeps referring to the 'canning' district. This seems to suggest that the city of Milwaukee in the game has nothing to do with the real city of Milwaukee.

it seems that flash drives are not quite there yet, but they are closer than before.
i wonder how they perform on a 'real' RAID card with a few gigs of ram, and delayed writes. the 128GB drives are now between $250 and $400. this summer i heard about 256GB drives due either for Christmas or early 2009.

Adam,
No word yet on what that video was. As for the LAN, this is the first year that the Eagle LAN was organized. From what I hear, not many people attended the event (so I don't know if this will happen again next year or not).
